Kyelle Agos was born and raised in Berkeley, California. She has been engaged with the fiber arts since childhood, and got her professional start in the world of textiles as a restorer of antique Oriental carpets for a major gallery in the San Francisco Bay Area. Later, she studied the arts of tapestry weaving and sheep husbandry from master weavers on the Navajo Nation. Her design sensibilities and improvisational technique are informed by deep observation of the natural world, and her love of the various textile traditions in which she has worked.  She also enjoys many other artistic media, including photography and painting. Kyelle is currently based in Oakland, California.
